Musically, though not professionally related, recording a CD in 2000 and becoming first chair in the QC Wind Ensemble STRANGEST PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: ummm...getting a degree in music and NOT having that as my career? (makes a great hobby and topic of conversation) UNI TRUMPET STUDIO MEMORIES: Like most everyone else, those seemingly ungodly early 8 a.m. Tuesday trumpet classes; conducting as well as playing in my senior recital; playing the arrangement for trumpets and timpani of the Tuba Mirum from Verdi's Requiem several times (including Dave Kjar's recital I think); warm up exercises I still use today, including using that cut-off segment of PVC pipe for breathing purposes; Steve Kenny - need I say more?!(I have several stories); The Wind Symphony trumpet sections throughout the years; ironically I DON'T recall some of the specific instances others here have recollected! |
