GREATEST LIFE EXPERIENCE: 1994 Blue Devils

STRANGEST PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: During an audition for a teaching gig, I played Taps, the Banner, and sight-read piano for the largest man I have ever seen -- I got the gig!!!
UNI TRUMPET STUDIO MEMORIES: Almost telling Emily Neundorf that she was in the wrong classroom on the first day of trumpet class
RG asking Dave Kjar if the scale he had just played was “The Dave Scale” after he played the wrong scale
RG asking us to call and wake up anyone who wasn’t there (often occurred weekly during 8 a.m. Trumpet Class)
Alex Thomas playing Scale Study #3(?) and ending on a high C and THEN attempting to add a high G. RG’s facial expression…PRICELESS! |
