UNI DEGREE: Bachelor of Music in Education, May 1992 EMAIL: CURRENT RESIDENCE: Des Moines, IA OCCUPATION: Middle school music teacher, Des Moines school district GREATEST LIFE EXPERIENCE: Getting married when a lot of people had bets against that STRANGEST LIFE EXPERIENCE: I was arrested and put in jail...for not having my dogs licensed. I'm not making that up. Long story short, I got a ticket for not having them licensed...got them licensed...forgot about the ticket. I was pulled over for a faulty brake light...at which point we all found out there was a warrant for my arrest -- For not having my dogs licensed!!! GREATEST PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Winning 2nd place in the North American Brass Band Association national solo contest, technical division STRANGEST PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Getting locked/stuck in a bathroom on a bus on our way to a concert. The bathroom on a bus is very small...it's even smaller when you're stuck in there. I didn't even have a magazine! UNI TRUMPET STUDIO MEMORIES: In trumpet class once, Dr. Grabowski told us of a time when he was in college, and one of his friends had a trumpet lesson in which the trumpet prof's nicest comment to the student was, "I really like your shoes." In my VERY next lesson, after which I HAD purchased new shoes, he said to me, "Hey, nice shoes." |
