Horn animation


Criteria includes Applied Lessons, Jury, Trumpet Notebook, and Attendance at Trumpet Class, Brass Seminar, and concerts/recitals.

Primary criteria consists of Preparation, Attitude, and Achievement. Students must be warmed-up and prepared to play. Only lessons missed because of an emergency or instructor absence will be made up.

In general, students should consider the following rubric:




To achieve an A, you need:

Minimum 12 hrs. Practice for the Week
Excellent Musical & Technical Progress
Consistent & Thorough Lesson Preparation
Always on Time
Good Attitude

Getting a B is Indicative of:

Maximum 11 hrs. Practice for the Week
Good Musical & Technical Progress
Occasionally not Prepared for Lessons
Always on Time
OK Attitude


Getting a C Means:

Maximum 10 hrs. Practice for the Peek
Fair Musical & Technical Progress
Mediocre Lesson Preparation
Sometimes Late
Fair Attitude


Getting a D Means:

Maximum 9 hrs. Practice for the Week
Unsatisfactory Musical & Technical Progress
Consistent Inadequate Lesson Preparation
Often Late
Poor Attitude


An F is indicative of:

Less Than 9 hrs. Practice for the Week
No Musical or Technical Progress
Never Prepared for Lessons
Excessive Number of Missed Lessons
Terrible Attitude
